24 / 04 / 2021 Sheigra to Am Buchaille, Sandwood, and Am Balg
An almost perfect morning for a trip up to the stack. The sea was relatively calm for that part of coast with maybe a couple of feet of swell. Wind was minimal. It was an easy paddle north, although we stayed offshore, and got to the stack in what felt like no time. My tiny, secret beach from last time seems to have disappeared, and is a great example of how dynamic the coastline can be. I`ll check the comparative dates and tides later. It was a little bit too splashy to circumnavigate Am Balg, so we got within prime photograph distance and then headed back towards the mainland. We encountered a leaping dolphin or two, some puffins, and a number of seals on the way back, and I ended up predictably lobster-faced as the sun grew hotter. All in all a fantastic day on the sea. Can`t wait for my next trip!
