18 / 05 / 2019 Port Vasgo to Ard Neakie
Setting off from Port Vasgo just after 9am the conditions were very good, if a little splashy in places. The first, six mile leg of the trip along the northern coastline of Whiten Head passed very much without issue and it was good to stretch the legs at the superb cave just before the corner of Eriboll. The conditions passing through the gateway there were unexpectedly calm and it seems the advice for timing it right might well have been spot on. Turning into Eriboll the rest of the journey was very pleasant with a glassy sea. Apart from exploring a couple of arches on the very northmost section and a slice of pizza at Freisgill it was pretty much a simple dash for home. All in all a fantastic fourteen miler in rarely seen conditions.
