29 / 05 / 2020 COVID19 Independence Day
An early morning nine miler taking in seven islands to celebrate a return to kayaking after the coronavirus kayak lockdown. The sun was blistering and I felt like I was melting from about 05:30 all the way to the moment that I got back. All in all it was a very sedate morning on the sea with little wind and only about a foot of swell. However, the swell unexpectedly rose to about a metre around the north end of Eilean Nan Ron, which meant a planned trek through the Northwestern Passage was a no go. A really nice morning on the sea, but it certainly showed me how much of a beating my level of fitness has taken over the long, dark tea time of the soul winter months.
